Donut Lovers
To all my donut lovers,
You are not a true donut lover until you have tried these mouth watering, delectable, pieces of gold.
I love donuts…. but only real donuts. I always need to specify that because some people just assume I enjoy any donut! No no no! If i’m going to put all that sugar into my body it has to be worth it!
For the people who agree with me on this, here is a list of my top 5 favorite places to get donuts that make the sugar crash so very worth it!
Numbah one is hands down, Backdoor Donuts. These donuts are a secret to some degree, because you can only buy them in the back of the store, at night, when they are fresh out of the oven. This hidden gem is located in Martha’s Vineyard in downtown Oak Bluffs! They are open every night in the summer until 1am.
In second would have to be BLACKBIRD DOUGHNUTS. When I first went here there was only one shop in the South End of Boston. It was a tiny little shop that almost always had a line out the door. Now they have four locations all over the Boston area. The donuts here are definitely high end. They are pretty expensive around $36 for a dozen. But hey, you pay for quality and BLACKBIRD does not disappoint.
Number three for me would have to be the donuts from Johnny’s Luncheonette. They only have one kind of donut here but they literally melt in your mouth. The cinnamon sugar donut comes out nice and warm. Nothing too fancy just really really delicious.
In a close fourth would have to be N & J Donuts. These Donuts are just very well made. They don't overdo it, they are very simple but delicious. I have never tried one, but they also sell these huge donuts that are the size of about four donuts put together! This place has to be the most reasonably priced of all the Donut places I have been…like less than a $1 for a quality donut.
Last but not least would have to be Donut Crazy. These donuts are about as extravagant as you can get. They are very delicious but very sugary. What I loved most about these donuts was how they looked. I love color and these were truly a piece of art. They did not disappoint my taste buds but they were definitely more pleasing to my eyes.
So if you are in need of an adventure or simply some comfort food, I hope this post helps you find what makes your taste buds tingle!
You’re all so wonderful and deserving, DONUT let anyone make you think otherwise!!
Love Always,
Casey
